Montreal Canadiens Dominate Eastern Conference All Star Starting Lineup
Jan 3rd, 2009 | By Administrator | Category: NHL All-Star jerseys
There will be plenty to celebrate in Montreal during this season’s NHL All Star game. The game is being played in Montreal during the celebration of the team’s 100th season and the Canadiens have four starters on the Eastern Conference team that includes Alexi Kovalev, Andrei Markov, Mike Komisarek and Carey Price will start as the goaltender. The only non Montreal Canadien starters will be Pittsburgh Penguin players Sidney Crosby who had the most votes out of all the players and Evgeni Malkin. Ever since the Montreal Canadien players started dominating the fan voting it’s debatable if this is the right way to go about naming the starting lineups for the NHL All Star game. Looking over at least two Canadien players, it’s hard to justify if Mike Komisarek and Alexi Kovalev really deserve being named as starters for the Eastern Conference. Do these two players deserve to be starting ahead of Phil Kessel or Zdeno Chara to name a few? We applaud the fans of Montreal in being so supportive of their team, we just wish the best players actually got to start during the All Star game.
We’d love to hear what you think. Did the NHL fans get it right this year with the starting lineup for the NHL Eastern Conference? Leave us a comment and let us know what you think.
